 ABOUT US

Our Mission:
"To ensure that all children with special needs receive an education which allows them to achieve their personal goals."

Parents of children with disabilities face challenges every day that other parents don't have.  It is often difficult to navigate the maze of special services and create a plan that will help children achieve successful outcomes through education.  But how do we reach these goals?  How do we know what choices to make for and with our children?  Missouri Parents ACT (MPACT) can help answer your questions.

MPACT assists parents to effectively advocate for their children's educational rights and services.

MPACT is a statewide parent training and information center serving all disabilities. Our mission is to ensure that all children with special needs receive an education that allows them to achieve their personal goals.

MPACT staff and volunteers are located throughout Missouri working together with educators and others for children's education. We promote the dignity of individuals with disabilities and their right to participate in all aspects of the community.

MPACT serves parents of children with all disabilities and works with public and private agencies, parent groups, professional organizations and advocacy groups.

MPACT provides up-to-date information online, as well as through our toll-free telephone numbers and training sessions throughout the state. You can also locate our information through Missouri's education agency or your local school district.

Our Logo

The MPACT logo represents MPACT as an A+ program which serves our children through education of a child centered, child focused collaborative team of parents, special education teachers, and general education teachers. We believe that each piece of the larger triangle is critical to the appropriate and successful education of our children with disabilities.

  • Yellow:  represents the student and the desire for each child to shine brightly through their personal achievement.

  • Green:  represents the parents as life-long advocates for their child’s growth and successful outcome from education.

  • Red:  represents the special education teachers who are crucial for each child to receive an appropriate education.

  • Blue:  represents the  regular education teachers who are vital  to preparation for life in an inclusive community.
