BULLYING / VIOLENCE PREVENTION
This
site was developed to help children in second through sixth grade recognize
bullying and respond to it in appropriate, effective ways. It is for all
children who are bullied or who witness bullying.
Bullying
is a big problem that affects lots of kids. Being bullied can make kids feel
scared, sad, worried, or embarrassed. The stress of dealing with bullies can
even give kids a stomachache.
Center
for the Study of Prevention of Violence Today,
all Americans are touched directly or indirectly by violent acts. In response,
the Center for the Study and Prevention of Violence (CSPV), a research program of the Institute of Behavioral Science at the University of
Colorado at Boulder, was founded in 1992 to provide informed assistance to
groups committed to understanding and preventing violence, particularly
adolescent violence. Since that time, our mission has expanded to encompass
violence across the life course.
